On Monday I passed the first two of my IT exams, hoorah! I have just recieved the second module "Network+" it is a slightly thinner book at a mere 800 pages. I was so glad to get that first module out the way, it did drag on a bit what with the training company going bust and all that!

The hotel is filling up nicely for the Easter weekend, the only problem is that my cleaner is off to New Zealand on Saturday for 3 whole weeks and I do not have a replacement yet. Anyone interested?

Yesterday afternoon all the TV's in one side of the house suddenly lost their signal, it has happened before but that time they come back on within an hour this time no chance! The guests that wanted to watch the footy were not happy! This morning I have had the Aerial man out to fix it, apparently water was getting in to our booster and shorting it out, we now have a new one and it is perfect.

What a great weekend!

The workshop hosted by Nicola was a great success; I managed to join them for most of the weekend. Guy Levine of Levine IT was talking about Passive Revenue Streams to a group of entrepreneurs (and me!) I learnt how to create and market a business on the internet, oh and how to look after spotty fish (long story!) I thoroughly enjoyed myself and with help from all the guys come away with a few business ideas.

The new IT training company I talked about last time has agreed to supply me with the books and tutorial support for the rest of the course; I just have to pay for the exams, not bad I suppose considering I thought I’d lost everything.

The Acacia is now advertised on lastminute.com, this morning I have been training myself on the use of their extranet so I can update prices and availability, I was dreading it but it was pretty straight forward really.

What's on

Larger than life, from New York City, the sensation that is Lord Bishop Rocks - The Kings of SexRock, who are currently whipping up a huge frenzy on a 26 date UK tour.

On Tuesday 30th March, Lord Bishop Rocks play a not-to-be-missed show at The Vintner's Parrot, 10-12 Warwick Street, Worthing, BN11 3DL (just round the corner from us!)

Lord Bishop Rocks are not to be missed, as this band could be bigger than The Darkness in a years time ... according to those who have seen the band on tour this month.

I had a bit of a nightmare last week, about 7 months ago I enroled on a distance learning course in IT (strings and bows and all that!)I was going along quite nicely just about to take my first module exam when I get a letter through the post stating that "Training IT" (the company I used) and I quote "cannot be of any further assistance to me!" Apparently the company went into liquidation last year in September and another company was keeping us all going while they discussed a possibility of a purchase, Well that did not happen and I now have no training provider and I am £3000 lighter! I have sought legal advice but it looks like I do not have a leg to stand on. More about all this malarky next time.

I am a third of the way through Nicola's Financial Intelligence Program which I am finding extremley enlightening. I have just finished reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki and I wish I had read it about 15 years ago! What else am I reading? I think I've got the financial bug at the moment, I am half way through "Multiple Streams of Internet Income" by Robert G. Allen and I have also downloaded a "Make Your Own Business Tutorial" by Paul Myers, very interesting! Don't worry Nicola the Hotel is still top of the list!

Roundabout gets an injection of 21st Century bohemia when Boho make their Worthing debut.

Inspired by the Beat poets, Boho fuse poetry with a gumbo stew of blues, jazz, folk and funk in their original compositions. Front-man John May, who was a member of arts collective The Worthing Workshop in the late ‘60s, says “Our music has been described as eclectic and optimistic - we just hope it rocks like a mother”. Boho have performed at a wide variety of events in Brighton and Lewes over the last five years, including being resident band at The Komedia’s New Beat Experience, but this is their first expedition to Worthing.

Roundabout takes place on Friday 26th March at The Barn, Field Place, Worthing. Roundabout is a family-friendly event, and admission for adults costs £5 and for children just 50p. Tickets are available on the door.

I am very pleased with myself this morning, I have remembered to fax all the tourist offices our availability for the week, I have finished the Information booklets for all the rooms and I have updated and refurbished the systems manual, Nicola will be pleased! After this brief blog I am off to Bookers cash and carry for some essentials, a fabulous place where the customer service is second to none (he says with his tongue firmly in his cheek!)

I have started a diet this week, which will include swimming every day ( he says), the goal being to lose the two stone I have put on since starting work at the Acacia! A combination I reckon of sitting at a desk for most of the day and eating too many cooked breakfasts. I will keep you posted on my progress.
